BY THE CALM WATERS

Stories of Waking and Dreams

Four women of different temperaments tell the story of the same event - a published story stirs memories in the heroines of events by the lake, to whose calm waters they had all once gone together. One went there to break away from her everyday life, one to pretend that nothing had changed, another to be near the man she loved once again. Yet the lake’s calm waters could not provide answers to all the questions they asked themselves. In those few days, each quietly lived through her own pain, which remained unnoticed by the others, including the author of the published story, and is now breaking free.

Dramatized based on motifs from Regīna Ezera’s story “By the Calm Waters.”

Attention for the audience!

The performance is conceived as a journey through the theater and through the destinies of these women, with each heroine given a separate space in which to share her inner world, dreams, and waking experiences. Before the performance, the audience will be divided into groups, and after watching each story they will have to move on to the next playing area (including climbing to the 4th floor).
