Guest Performance by the Latvian Puppet Theatre Oscar and the Things

Oscar and the Things

Summer at grandma’s place in the countryside feels endless to Oscar, yet boredom is kept at bay by a wooden telephone he made himself, which lets him talk to things. It turns out that grandma’s chair dreams of traveling around the world, a balloon caught in the branches of a tree flirts with the wind, a watering can is waiting for its cloud parents, and a rubbish bin turns everything into songs. By getting to know the things found in grandma’s house, Oscar’s summer turns into a real adventure.

"Oscar and the Things" is a family story about the power of imagination, overcoming loneliness, growing up, friendship, farewells, and the wonders that happen when we are ready to hear one another.

The performance in Ventspils is organized by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija” with financial support from the Ventspils State City Municipality and the State Culture Capital Foundation.
