“CONTINUATION” | 45th anniversary concert of the mixed choir “Fēnikss”

Featuring the mixed choir “Fēnikss” of the VEF Culture Palace (artistic director Alise Līva Taube, conductors Dairis Ulmanis and Madara Priede), the choir of the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Jesus in Riga (artistic director Henrijs Rolands Kalniņš, conductor Austra Legzdiņa), the men's choir “Frachori” (artistic director Ingus Leilands, conductor Andrejs Mūrnieks), as well as Laila Ilze Purmaliete, Valdis Zilveris, and friends.

Works by Latvian and foreign composers will reveal both delicate, fragile threads of atmosphere and a broad, powerful choral sound - music that carries us through light and shadow, silence and climax. Alongside beloved and surprising colors of choral music, a special place will be taken by a premiere - a new sound meeting its listeners for the very first time on this evening.

Forty-five years is a story. A story of voices that have come together, of songs that have stayed in memory, and of music that is reborn in every new generation.
