The Boy Who Could See in the Dark

When your eyes are covered with an opaque cloth, you become someone else. Your thinking changes, your physical body changes, and your perception of the world changes. You are no longer who you were before. You are in the unknown, and you are there all alone. And suddenly, things that previously required no effort now have to be done slowly and carefully.

Jēkabs was born to blind parents, so he does not have much choice - he has to be responsible and understanding, and live up to the expectations his parents have placed on him. No, that is not difficult at all, because he knows he is special - in the world of the blind, Jēkabs is the only one who can see. He is the only one who can see in the dark! It gets difficult when it is time to start school and he has to realize that in fact he was simply born to blind parents and that all of life is one endless duty.
