Half-Hour Run 2026

Autumn is approaching, which means that on Wednesdays, active lifestyle enthusiasts will traditionally gather at Jēkabpils Mežaparks to collect laps in the Half-Hour Run, which this year will already take place for the 43rd season.

The aim of the competition is to encourage physical activity among residents, promote running, and determine the fastest runners in different age groups.

The competition will take place in six rounds - on September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28, and November 4. The start for the youngest groups (born in 2018 and younger, born in 2016-2017, born in 2012-2015) is at 6:00 p.m., while the older groups will start at 6:40 p.m. In each round, participants will run for half an hour, and the result will be determined by the number of laps completed (including the final lap that the athlete manages to start before the end of the 30 minutes). In the overall standings, the four best rounds will count, and the 1st-3rd place winners in each age group will receive medals. The award ceremony and souvenir prize draw will take place on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Jēkabpils Mežaparks by the forest house. The season's absolute best runners, in the men's and women's competitions, will receive a 50 euro gift card from the sports store Fans in Jēkabpils, while every participant who has completed all 6 rounds will receive one of the souvenir prizes by lottery. The participation fee is 5 € (regardless of the number of rounds).

Electronic registration is open until September 28 at 11:59 p.m. - forms.gle/S7nbPvfJ4iysJB7b7 , after that, registration on site. The number is issued for all rounds of the season.

The competition is organized by Jēkabpils Sports Center in cooperation with the sports store Fans in Jēkabpils and Jēkabpils Sports School.
