RAA Thursdays: two performances at the Boiler House

On November 12, as part of RAA Thursdays, two performances will take place at the Boiler House in Veldze Quarter. In both, sound and body converse without words. The first is a meditative dialogue between a musician and a dancer; the second is a darkly satirical journey through a system with no way out.

Sound in Motion

A wordless conversation between a musician and a dancer. In this experimental, live dialogue, sound provides the impulse, while the body becomes its continuation and response. Contemporary pole dance intertwines with elements of Baroque dance.

Noise, low frequencies, and layers of bass merge into meditative electronic music. From apparent chaos, rhythm and melody gradually emerge, creating a trance-like atmosphere. The body does not translate sound literally. Movement becomes the visual experience of sound, and the audible is transformed into dance.

A darkly satirical performance about entrapment, disorientation, and the absurdity created by the search for freedom in a system from which it is impossible to escape.

The intense, physical expression of butoh dance collides with distorted textures of electric guitar sounds, amplified breathing, and the impersonal rhythm of public announcements. Repetition, physical tension, and sound-induced disorientation reveal a world in which every direction promises an exit, but freedom still remains unattainable.
