Returning to the family nest can turn into an emotional roller coaster, especially when it happens as rarely as the appearance of a blue moon in the sky. When Scott and Amy go to visit their father, they expect that he may be a little lonely. But they do not expect at all that their father has found company for himself, and a very unusual one at that...

The characters in the play find themselves in a crisis situation that becomes a test of the unbreakable bond of their family ties. The ability to turn one’s gaze from one’s own needs to those of others sometimes requires great effort, and not everyone can shoulder such a test. But in this difficult situation, it is mutual love that becomes their North Star, helping the family find a way to a solution while staying united.

The play is based on one of Peter Quilter’s latest plays, Marilyn and Me, also known as Once in the Blue Light of the Full Moon. Daugavpils Theatre audiences were able to become acquainted with this playwright’s style in the production In the Grip of Snow, while they could get to know director Herberts Laukšteins’ style by watching Next Year at the Same Time.
