Riga Christmas Market

At the traditional Christmas market, mulled wine becomes the favorite drink and the air is filled with the aromas of cinnamon, ginger, and roasted almonds. This year, the Riga Old Town Christmas Market will be even more surprising than ever before.

There will be a chance to visit Santa Claus's house, little elves will delight visitors, and children will have the opportunity to send letters all the way to Lapland! Every Friday, a DJ will entertain the Christmas market visitors, on Saturdays choirs and musical ensembles will perform, and on Sundays the market will be filled with folk music! Caterers will provide special cocktails, sweets and treats, modern and wintry street-food menus, as well as traditional Latvian cuisine. If you are looking for a unique gift to give your loved ones at Christmas, this is the place to be - local Latvian artisans will offer beeswax candles, various creative kits, such as sets for making bowls and door wreaths, macramé kits, sets for wall decorations, candle-making sets, and, of course, many other truly interesting things. There will also be many, many traditional gifts available, such as gingerbread, wool socks, and gloves.
