A Talent for Murder

In a remote cottage in the Swiss Alps, among a collection of guns, bottles of poison, and her own dark thoughts, Patricia Highsmith (Oscar winner Helen Mirren), the legendary and ruthless author of several chilling detective novels, lives alone. Her secluded world is unexpectedly disturbed by an unwelcome visitor, Edward (Alden Ehrenreich), a young and ambitious publishing representative from New York. His task is to convince the famous writer, at any cost, to write one more novel about her most famous fictional creation, Tom Ripley, the charming and cold-blooded manipulator and killer.

But the writer has one firm rule - Edward must plan the perfect murder and put himself in the killer's shoes. By provoking him and nearly driving him out of his mind, she digs into the darkest corners of his past. Meanwhile, the audience is drawn into a dual narrative in which the real world merges with the self-created crime story - a tale full of passion, deception, and murder about an ordinary guy who meets a rich girl and is determined to get his hands on her family's fortune.

The film is in English with subtitles in Latvian and Russian.
