“Rust Patterns” Experimental Textile Workshop

On Saturday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m., an open experimental workshop will take place at the Līgatne Paper Mill (Pilsoņu iela 1a, Līgatne), where anyone interested will be able to learn the rust-dyeing technique and take part in a creative process together with the members of TLMS “Līgatne”.

During the workshop, yarn, fabrics, and also the specially designated tube fabric for the Līgatne Paper Mill will be dyed using rust imprints from the industrial environment of the Līgatne Paper Mill. This process is part of a broader cultural project in which traditional weaving skills gain a contemporary expression and are connected to the historical memory of the Līgatne Paper Mill.

A collection of textile works will later be created from the materials prepared in the workshop, which will be exhibited at the Līgatne Paper Mill and later included in the 60th anniversary exhibition of TLMS “Līgatne”.

We invite those who are interested in textiles, handicrafts, creative experiments, the history of Līgatne, and industrial heritage to join us.
