Little Red-Haired Girl
What happens to a toy when a child no longer needs it?
Inspired by Margarita Stāraste’s tale “Red-Haired Girl,” this performance tells the story of a toy that was once the most beautiful and beloved, but over time became worn out, forgotten, and ended up in the attic. Can an old, broken toy that no one needs anymore have a second life?
In the bustling world of a Christmas market, three dwarfs, toy makers, tell the story of Red-Haired Girl with the help of various objects, dolls, and music, from her creation and playtime with children to her being forgotten and an unexpected chance to return.
“Red-Haired Girl” is a musical and visual story about objects and toys that hold our memories, about a second chance, and about the joy of discovering how something old and forgotten can be repaired and gain new value.
