Senior Morning with Visual Artist Krista Vindberga

• 📅Wednesday, November 25, 11.30–13.00
• 🎟️Admission fee: exhibition ticket

🗣️ The event will take place in Latvian

Zuzeum Art Museum invites you to a leisurely morning devoted to conversations about contemporary art in the exhibition “Collective Memory Is Everything I Do Not Remember: Moments Experienced Together.” The exhibition presents the works of seven Latvian women artists. They represent the so-called millennial generation, whose coming-of-age experience was shaped by the restoration of Latvia’s independence and the period of change that followed. Their practices explore the connection between collective memory and identity, as well as individual perceptions of the past. Drawing on their own experiences and those of their families, they turn to the realities of the 20th century, reveal personal stories, address socio-economic issues, and explore public space.

We will begin the morning with a tour led by an art mediator. Artist Krista Vindberga will then tell us more about her video work. In conclusion, we invite you to tea and conversation in the Zuzeum Living Room, in a calm, informal atmosphere, sharing impressions and thoughts about what you have seen in the exhibition.

Krista Vindberga (b. 1989) combines still and moving images in her creative practice. She works with painting, drawing, photography, and video, carefully choosing for each work the medium that allows her to use its specific qualities and possibilities. Memory and time are central to her work, which is why the artist often turns to photographic archives. Vindberga also works as a set designer and costume designer, and this experience adds to the multidisciplinary nature and layered narratives of her creative practice.

Seniors are especially welcome, but other interested visitors are also warmly invited, regardless of age. We look forward to seeing you!
