Daugavpils University basketball players will open the season at home against "Vilniaus Oaks"

The Daugavpils University team will start the new Women's Baltic Basketball League (WBBL) season in front of their fans. On Thursday, October 22, Daugavpils will host the Lithuanian club "Vilniaus Oaks", which won the B division bronze medals last season.

Vilnius basketball players were among the leading teams of the tournament last year: they took second place in the main tournament, but later won awards. It will be DU's first game of the season and at the same time an opportunity to evaluate their strength against one of the strongest opponents of the last championship.

This season, 11 teams from five countries will meet in the B division. For Daugavpils, this means a wider range of opponents and 20 games in the main tournament. The team is led again this year by head coach Irina Romanenko and her assistant Yulia Fedorenko.

The first meeting of the season will take place in the sports hall of Daugavpils Culture Palace, Smilšu Street 92. The game starts at 18.30

We invite basketball fans to be present at the first game and help Daugavpils girls start the new season with their support!
