Sixth Mile at Christmas

“Sixth Mile” returns with a new Christmas program

A moment of light and joy in the darkest time of the year, a ray of hope looking right here, over the threshold of the soon-to-arrive New Year, and peace, at least in one’s inner world, at a time when many out there seem to have forgotten about it...

With such moods and previously unheard songs, in the final month of this year, Latvia’s most skilled country music group, “Sixth Mile,” will head to its listeners with a completely new Christmas program.

The new song program, “Sixth Mile at Christmas,” will include Christian Christmas songs created at different times and well known in Latvia and around the world, as well as some previously performed and sing-along favorites from the holiday “must-have repertoire.” A special new feature will be several melodies from world-famous hits, for whose Latvian versions the lyrics were only recently written by Ivars Strautiņš, a songwriter already well known to fans of “Sixth Mile.”

“We want to continue the good tradition we have started, so in the program dedicated to the brightest holiday of the year we have included new, previously unheard songs that, we very much hope, our listeners will like no less than the ones played before. Time goes on, and we go with it,” says the author and performer of one of “Sixth Mile’s” Christmas songs, Agris Gedrovičs, inviting everyone to the concerts.

See you at the concerts!
