A Performance of Sound and Movement “Are We Alone?”

“Are We Alone?” is a wordless performance of movement, music, and visual presence. On stage, two young artists and the kokle meet - one of the symbols of Latvian traditional music. The two artists have played the kokle together since childhood. In the performance, sound and movement become the language of communication. In their hands, the kokle is not just a musical instrument - it is a responsive partner in play and a living archive that holds memories of personal choices and bonds that reach beyond one generation.

At the center of the performance is the kokle - both as a musical instrument and as a connection to family, lineage, and tradition. It weaves together the kokle’s living sound and movement, also revealing the essence of creativity, the search for one’s own path, and the courage to choose what feels true to oneself.
