Feature Film "The Dark Border"

This fast-paced spy thriller feature film is set in 1938 and tells the story of journalist Baltais, who is sent on a secret mission to the border area to prevent the possible transfer of a Russian intelligence pilot to Russia with information that threatens the security of the Latvian state. While carrying out this mission, Baltais uncovers other secret plans of the Soviet spy network and comes to know true friendship, loyalty, and betrayal. The question of which side are you on sharply resonates with later historical events and with the present day.

The film is directed by Andrejs Ekis, produced by Dita Cimermane, filmed by Gatis Grinbergs, with music by Rihards Zalupe.

The lead role of Lieutenant Baltais is played by Jekabs Reinis. Starring: Vilis Daudzins, Kaspars Zvīgulis, Santa Breikša, Kaspars Znotins, Elizabete Milta, and others.
