In order for the younger sister Bianca to be allowed to marry, their father has stipulated that the elder sister, Katarina, must marry first. Bianca has no shortage of suitors because of her gentle nature, but Katarina inspires fear and disgust in everyone. When one of Bianca's admirers hires Petruccio to win over the famous shrew, there is no measure Petruccio finds unfair or cruel in taming her.

Shakespeare's comedy reveals, with harsh precision, the roles that men and women skillfully play, sometimes without even noticing that it is no longer a game but a cruel struggle. This play offers the chance to tell an almost mythical story about a woman who did not want to play her part, and to ask questions that have not lost their relevance over time. Are our mutual games a struggle for power or for survival? What is the value of playing brilliantly the role we have been given? What is the worth of harmony born from playing theater?
