Sūniņa's Way Home

Sūniņa's Way Home

About the courage to leave and the strength to return

Age: 5+

Duration: 50 min

In a forest where tree branches whisper secrets and little lights in the dusk show the way, small forest sprites live. They bustle about, help one another, and prepare for autumn. The forest sprite Sūniņa, curious, stubborn, and independent, is convinced she can do everything on her own. But working alone does not go well, the house is built in an unsafe place, and one morning Sūniņa's world collapses together with the old pine tree. With no shelter and a wounded heart, she sets out on a journey and meets fear, cold, and uncertainty, but also kindness, warmth, and friendship. She spends the winter with the Goat, learns that trust and asking for help are strength, not weakness, and that the world becomes brighter when we act together.

In spring, Sūniņa returns home to her own, changed already calmer, more open. And then something even more important happens: she is able to forgive the person who once destroyed her home, and persuades her friends to help together the woodcutter who has fallen into trouble. This is a story about courage born not from stubborn solitude, but from the ability to cooperate, understand, and empathize.
