The Play "Gogol. The Portrait"

At the center of the story is Gogol’s created world, in which the embodiment of evil needs an artist so that evil can realize itself, manifest itself, affirm its existence. And, unable to resist temptation, the one who could serve beauty begins to serve the devil. This is a terrible fairy tale that speaks to our time.

The performance is in Russian with subtitles in Latvian and English.

Estere Bola’s play was created based on motifs from Nikolai Gogol’s novella "The Portrait."
