Meeting with Silva Bendrāte

On November 6 at 5: 30 p.m. at the Strenči City Library, we invite you to a meeting with the idea author of the book “Shelter for Shattered Souls,” its compiler and the leader of this creative project, journalist Silva Bendrāte, who for many years was head of public relations at the National Mental Health Center.

We will introduce the latest addition to the collection - the book “Shelter for Shattered Souls.”

The book is a vivid and intriguing journey, written for a wide readership, through the history and development of the field of mental health, surrounded by prejudice. It introduces the largest psychiatric treatment institution in Latvia and the oldest in the Baltics - the National Mental Health Center, which was opened in 1824 and has just celebrated its 202nd birthday.
