Tribute to Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley

On November 13, at the MASA jazz club, a quintet of new generation musicians will perform a program dedicated to two bright figures in the history of jazz - singer Nancy Wilson and saxophonist Cannonball Adderley.

The Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley album was released in 1962. In it, clean and gentle vocals alternate with energetic playing of instruments and the warm sound of the saxophone. The album also gained attention outside of the jazz audience, peaking at number 30 on the US Billboard Top LPs. Its sound combines swing rhythms, blues feel and the freedom of improvisation characteristic of bebop.

This evening, the young musicians will focus on the album's repertoire, returning to its original sound and the jazz aesthetic of the era.
