The film Uļa is an emotional story about identity and belonging, set in 1960s Latvia. Uļa is a teenage Old Believer whose unusual height of nearly two meters catches the attention of basketball coaches. She is taken to Riga, where she finds herself in an unfamiliar big city and the world of professional sports. Struggling with inner doubts, the girl soon realizes that she must make the most important choice of her life: hide from the world or accept herself and become the best female basketball player in the world.

The film is in Latvian with subtitles in Latvian and Russian.
