STATE HOLIDAY CONCERT IN DOBELE

On November 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., to mark the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, a special celebration concert, “Call it Your Own Land,” will take place at Dobele’s historic Market Square, featuring rock musician Miks Galvanovskis with his accompanying band.

On November 18, 1918, the Republic of Latvia was proclaimed, beginning the story of our independent state. This day symbolizes the freedom of the Latvian people and their faith in their country, so let us gather together and celebrate Latvia, its history, and the people who have shaped and continue to shape the story of our country!

The celebration evening will be opened by the children’s vocal ensemble “Susuriņi” from Kaķenieki Community Center, after which we will join in a shared ceremonial moment in honor of Latvia. After the ceremonial moment, the state holiday concert with Miks Galvanovskis will follow.

“The concert will feature both Miks’s original songs and beloved Latvian patriotic songs in Miks’s arrangements. ‘Call it Your Own Land’ is about belonging and love for one’s land, one’s people, and the place we proudly call home. Powerful melodies have been chosen for the concert as a tribute to our land and nation, resonating in every Latvian heart,” says Miks Galvanovskis’s team.
