It is often said that a good concert should leave an impression.

We decided to go a little further and leave a good mood as well.

This evening, three well-known artists will meet on one stage: YANS LEVINZON, GRIGORY KOVALEVSKY and YAKOV RAFALSON.

They are very different, but they are united by the most important thing: each has something to tell, each knows how to do it, and no one should be handed the microphone too soon, because once that happens, it is impossible to take it away.

YANS LEVINZON is a master of humor, from Odessa, and a veteran of the legendary KVN team “Odessa Gentlemen.” A member of the famous “Gentlemen Show,” host of the program “Seven Forty,” and a man who always has a brand-new joke.

Where he finds them is unknown. Perhaps the jokes find Yans Levinzon themselves, because they understand that they will not find a better performer anyway.

His humor is recognizable from the very first intonation. Sometimes one look is enough. Sometimes a pause. And sometimes he has not even had time to say anything when the audience already senses: something very familiar is about to happen, something lived through, and for some reason, exactly about us.

GRIGORY KOVALEVSKY is a legendary double bassist, one of the founders of the orchestra Moscow Virtuosos, and a musician who devoted about forty years of his creative life to this outstanding ensemble, working with it until 2019.

He has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages with Sviatoslav Richter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Mischa Maisky, Evgeny Kissin, Maxim Vengerov, Mikhail Pletnev, and many other outstanding musicians.

So many years of a creative life can accumulate a lot: posters, travel suitcases, memories, and a certain number of stories that, at the first opportunity, simply demand to be told.

Grigory Kovalevsky has enough of these stories for an entire touring program. In them, famous musicians are revealed not only as brilliant masters, but also as living people, talented, witty, surprising, and at times, which is especially pleasant, completely unpredictable.

In addition, Grigory Kovalevsky is an excellent master of improvisation and has a remarkable sense of humor. A double bass is, of course, a serious instrument. But only until it is picked up by a person with a good character.

YAKOV RAFALSON is a leading actor of the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre and a person whom Riga audiences, it seems, do not need to be introduced to. But if such an artist is taking part in the concert, it is still nice to say it once more.

Since 1991, Yakov Rafalson has been an actor at the Mikhail Chekhov Theatre, and during that time he has created many striking dramatic and comic roles. He has twice received the Latvian National Theatre Award Spēlmaņu nakts as the best actor of the year, was awarded the Order of the Three Stars, and received an award for lifetime contribution to the art of theatre.

Yakov Rafalson knows how to tell a story in such a way that in an instant there is no longer just a stage before you, but an entire world, with its own heroes, characters, circumstances, and relatives whom no one invited, but who have come anyway.

In his performance, even a short episode turns into a small play. And a pause sometimes says more than a long monologue. Especially when that pause is held by a master, while the audience has already understood everything in the meantime.

Live music will be played, elegant, virtuosic, and full of character. Because after a good story, music must certainly follow. If only so that the audience can catch its breath and get ready for the next one.

The program includes humor, jokes, funny stories, unexpected memories, improvisations, and music.

We promise an intelligent evening.

A fun one too, we promise that.

But whether the evening will turn out serious will depend on the artists. So, most likely, it will not.

Come with friends and family. Of course, laughing alone is allowed too. But then people around you start asking questions.

Everything here will be easy to understand: familiar artists, good music, and great company.
