The film "Ulya" is an emotional story about identity and belonging, set in 1960s Latvia. Ulya is a teenage Old Believer whose unusual height of nearly two meters attracts the attention of basketball coaches. She is taken to Riga, where she finds herself in an unfamiliar big city and the world of professional sports. Struggling with her inner doubts, the girl soon realizes that she must make the most important choice of her life: hide from the world or accept herself and become the best basketball player in the world.
