Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons." Organ Concert
Okoncert presents: Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" on the historic organ of St. Paul's Church by candlelight.
Antonio Vivaldi's most famous work, the cycle "The Four Seasons," performed by solo violin, cello, and the historic organ of St. Paul's Church.
For each of the four concertos, Vivaldi dedicated one season - "Spring," "Summer," "Autumn," and "Winter" - and added a sonnet that reveals in detail the images contained in the music. Birdsong and a spring storm, the heat of summer, harvest celebrations, winter wind, and cracking ice - the composer turns all of this into musical scenes that have lost none of their vitality even nearly three centuries later.
On December 4 and 5, 2026, the famous cycle will звучe beneath the neo-Gothic vaults of St. Paul's Church in an unusual instrumental lineup, allowing this well-known music to be heard from a different angle.
Performers:
Larisa Carjkova – (pipe organ)
Yuri Savkin – (violin)
Irina Vilegzhanina – (cello)
The church's spacious acoustics will give the music added scale, while the lighting and visual design will change with the four seasons, complementing the images created by Vivaldi.
- •Please note: the concert will take place at the historic organ of St. Paul's Church, and all musicians will be on the balcony. For the audience's convenience, screens with a live video feed will be placed in the hall so that you can not only hear the music, but also watch the performance up close.
Don't miss it!
