INTRODUCTION TO CINEMA. STORY. | Drawing performance “Musical Workshop” with Varis Klausītājs and a film

KINO CĒSIS, in collaboration with director Kārlis Lesiņš, is launching a new series of creative activities and film events for children and young people, "INTRODUCTION TO CINEMA"!

For the first event, we have invited the Drawing Theatre with the performance “Musical Workshop,” and after the show there will be a chance to watch the animated film “Thread and the Monsters.”

This is an improvisation-based performance created from suggestions from the audience. Improviser Varis Klausītājs leads a conversation with the children to create the characters of the performance together and then guide them into various events. The artist paints the created characters on a large paper wall, and the musician “voices” the characters, or creates themes that enhance the atmosphere.

The performance features:

Artist: Ingrīda Ivane

Musician: Aleksejs Bahirs

Improviser: Varis Klausītājs

After the performance – a 15-minute break, followed by the animated film “Thread and the Monsters.”

About the film:

“Thread and the Monsters” is a distinctive and touching story about a small, forgotten creature brought to life by a peculiar Crazy Professor in a crumbling castle towering over the mysterious city of Grabernabina. When the townspeople discover the professor’s strange creations, Thread must emerge from underground to protect his friends and prove that even the smallest monster can be a hero.
