IN THE STAR. Concert of Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School students

Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School students' concert "Zvaigznāja"

on November 12 at At 18.00 KTMC "Mazā Gilde" will host one of the biggest concert events of the year of the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School - the students' concert "Zvaigznāja".

This is a special evening for the whole JMRMV family, because our students - young musicians from different school departments at different stages of their studies - meet in one concert. Both soloists and various ensembles and the school's large ensembles will play music on stage, showing the wide and varied musical environment in which the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School lives on a daily basis.

The concert will feature the works of Maija Einfelde, Imantas Ramiņas, Lolitas Ritmanis, Kārļas Lāčas, Pēteras Plakids, Ārik Ešenvalds, Jēkabs Mediņas, Gunārs Ordelovskis and Mikus Bāliņas - from different eras and styles - from academic music to jazz.

A special event will be the premiere of Alvilas Altmani's composition for the saxophone quartet, commissioned by Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School. The new saxophonists of our school will premiere the pieces.

"Zvaigznāja" is a concert where you can see and hear our students' current performance, their growth and diverse musical interests. It is also an evening where we, Lielie Mediņi, can meet - students, teachers, parents, friends and supporters of our school.

We invite you to experience this special evening together with the young musicians of Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School!
