Concert of Music and Poetry for the 150th Anniversary of Jānis Akuraters

To mark the 150th anniversary of the outstanding Latvian writer and poet Jānis Akuraters, we invite you to a special concert where his poetic texts are brought to life in a new musical interpretation by the music of composer Kalvis Sležis-Zaļkalns.

In Jānis Akuraters' poetry, one can find both romantic fragility and dreaminess, as well as deep reflections on people, life, and time. The music created by Kalvis Sležis-Zaļkalns gives these words new life, allowing Akuraters' texts to resonate not only as poetry, but also as song.

Words that remain. Music that continues them.
