I invite you to a mending masterclass!

In recent years, mending has been experiencing a kind of renaissance, which can also be seen a lot on social media - mending is becoming a visible part of the garment, a symbol of care, taste, and skill. Today they are made in many different styles, but they still share one goal - to extend the life of a garment.

This workshop is your chance to learn how to repair your favorite sweater, pajamas with a button torn out and a big hole, or your favorite hand-knitted socks from grandma. At the start of the cool season, we will give some care to our favorite clothing items so they are already repaired and ready to wear!

In the workshop we will look at different mending techniques, work with yarns, threads, and fabric patches, combine them with hand stitches, and use embroidery in its only truly practical application. This masterclass is about care, about extending a garment's life, and of course, about practical skills. Leave perfectionism at home - let's embrace visible mending, nothing to be ashamed of!

You need to bring the item you want to mend with you. It can be completely worn out, or maybe moths have done their damage, or perhaps it has a stain that we will hide with a patch. If you have any thread or yarn you would like to use, bring that too, but I will provide the rest - needles, thread and yarn, scissors - and it is included in the participation fee.

During the class you will also receive a handout with information about types of patches and different techniques, tips on where to find and buy materials, and I will also mention various practitioners I love who make mending especially aesthetically pleasing.
