Imants Klīdzējs exhibition “Close to the Wind”

Imants Klīdzējs' (1956) artistic work is characterized by a continuous dialogue between material, time, and human experience. Over more than fifty years of creative work, the artist has consistently tested the boundaries of ceramics, turning clay into a space for thought, where form is not an end in itself but an instrument for conversation about the order of the world.

The author's monumental compositions are made up of hundreds and thousands of elements. Each is an independent unit, but together they form a whole in which the exhibition curator Māris Čačka sees structural parallels with human experience. After all, life is shaped not only by the major events, but also by countless details that accumulate and gain meaning alongside others.
