Traveling by train is a great way to add a unique experience to your holiday trips and set off on exciting adventures while discovering new and still undiscovered places in Latvia.

In the 2026 tourism season, we invite you to come visit by train to Madona, Cesvaine, Gulbene, and Aluksne and enjoy a special holiday!

Train ride on the Riga–Gulbene line to Madona Station.

• •Guided tour of Madona.
• •Madona Museum.
• •Trip from Madona to Cesvaine (17 km, by public bus).
• •Lunch at the Kuilis inn.
• •Visit to Smede House.
• •Walk around Cesvaine manor estate.
• •Visit to Cesvaine Palace.
• •Gallery of embroidered paintings by Vineta Meistere.
• •Walk to the station.

Train ride on the Gulbene–Riga line.

Cost:

Adults – 38 EUR

Schoolchildren, students, pensioners – 33 EUR

Included in the price are all admission tickets, bus ride on the Madona–Cesvaine route, lunch.

Organizational details:

• •You will be accompanied throughout the day by local guides (from welcoming you to seeing you off at the train stations).
• •In Madona and Cesvaine we will get around on foot. During the day we will walk about 7 kilometers.
• •Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are required.
• •We will be a small group, 10 to 15 people.
• •Bring your own sandwiches, which will be very useful as dinner on the way home!
