Bolero - classical music organ concert

OConcert presents: Bolero - an evening where music quite literally breathes rhythm.

In winter, warmth is especially appealing.

That is why we are once again inviting you to the concert program “Bolero” - an evening inspired by Spanish temperament and musical energy: from Bizet’s “Carmen” to Ravel’s “Bolero”.

The “Habanera” from Bizet’s opera “Carmen”, Ravel’s “Bolero”, Pascual Marquina’s pasodoble “España Cañí” and the explosive Danzon No. 2 - melodies that are recognizable from the very first notes and reveal themselves anew every time.

Music that seems to dance, lead, and change before the listener’s eyes.

The sound of organ, strings, and percussion will create the effect of a full orchestra, while preserving an intimate chamber-music atmosphere where every detail can be heard.

Performers:

Ilona Birgele - organ

Ilze Kirsanova - violin

Irina Vilegzhanina - cello

Virdžīnija Laube-Viņiņa - percussion

And, of course, the special atmosphere - the neo-Gothic vaults of St. Paul’s Church, candles, and visual elements - will create everything that makes a concert an event.
