The first lineup of the Riga Guitar Quartet brought together some of the most talented and active representatives of the younger generation of classical guitarists - Kārlis Matīss Zitmanis, Miks Akots, and Kristens Kupčs, with their teacher, the experienced guitar virtuoso Kaspars Zemītis, joining the ensemble as well. Founded in late 2024, the quartet introduced itself at the Latvian Classical Guitar Symposium, performing Andrew York's impressive and technically demanding piece Quiccan for the first time in our concert scene, which is also included in this program.

The program will also feature pieces created by the guitarists themselves, as well as works by well-known composers such as Enrique Granados or Zigmar Liepiņš, Emīls Dārziņš, Latvian folk songs, and pages from the musical “The Sound of Music”.

Concert length: 1 hour and 30 minutes (without intermission)
