In the work of composer Jānis Lūsēns, vocal chamber music holds a special place. The song cycle “Mazu brīdi pirms”, created 17 years ago for Kristīne Zadovska and Inga Pētersona, has had more than one hundred performances.

Continuing his work in vocal chamber music in the years that followed, eight concert programs were created to the words of the classics of Latvian poetry for a wide variety of performers.

At the end of 2025, the composer created a new duet - Brigita Reisone (soprano) and Raimonds Celms (tenor). The resonant voices of both performers could be heard at Christmas concerts at the end of last year.

After this successful collaboration, Jānis Lūsēns has created a new concert program featuring new songs, both solo and duet, as well as excerpts from the composer’s major stage works “Sphinx”, “Early Rust” and others.
