The premiere of the album “LIFELINES” and the immortal hits will merge into a single canvas of emotion, offering a rare chance to connect with music that has become part of the lives of millions around the world.
“LIFELINES” - the legend’s musical autobiography
The new album “LIFELINES”, scheduled for release in March 2026, has become a special and deeply personal chapter in Chris Norman’s career. It is a conceptual work, conceived as a musical autobiography and an emotional journey through more than 50 creative years.
Each song on the album is an important milestone in the life of the outstanding musician. Together, they form a continuous thread of memories, emotions, and countless musical influences that have shaped Chris Norman’s personality over the decades. The opening track and first single “LIFELINES” symbolize the beginning of this journey into the past.
“‘LIFELINES’ is a song about memories and experiences from my life and career, about those moments that bring out the strong feelings that only music can create,” says Chris Norman.
The artist’s 75th birthday became the perfect moment to stop and look back: at early childhood memories, the heights reached in his music career, fateful encounters, and deeply personal, moving moments. All of this is reflected in the album “LIFELINES”, which reveals not only the artist but also the person behind the stage persona.
“I chose special songs from different decades - compositions that were very important to me then and are important to me today. I hope they will bring listeners many warm memories,” adds Chris Norman.
Alongside these personal musical revelations, the album also includes the legendary hits “Midnight Lady” and “Mexican Girl”, which have become an inseparable part of world music history. The grand stage in Riga will also feature immortal classics - “Living Next Door to Alice”, “Needles and Pins”, “Oh Carol”, “I’ll Meet You at Midnight”, “Don’t Play Your Rock’N Roll to Me”, and other world-famous compositions.
A world pop-rock legend
Music fans around the world do not need an introduction to Chris Norman. It was because of his distinctive, slightly husky voice that the band “Kindness” was once renamed “Smokey” at the managers’ suggestion. As the band members have explained more than once, Chris’s “husky” voice was associated with “smoke”, and the band later got the name “Smokie”.
Chris Norman (born Christopher Ward Norman) was born into an artistic family in Yorkshire, Great Britain. His father, whose musical taste was influenced by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Little Richard, and The Rolling Stones, gave his son his first guitar when Chris was seven.
In 1962, Chris Norman began studying at Bradford Boys’ School, where he met his future “Smokie” bandmates - Alan Silson and Terry Uttley.
At first, the band had many different names - “The Yen”, “Essence”, “Long Side Down”, “The Elizabethans”. But the true creative breakthrough came with the fateful name: in 1975, the long-awaited debut album “Pass It Around” was released, created in collaboration with the famous producers and songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman.
1978 marked the beginning of Smokie’s golden era: the album “The Montreux Album” was released, the critically acclaimed single “Mexican Girl” became a megahit, and Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro’s song “Stumblin’ In” entered the US Billboard Top 10. Years of dazzling fame followed, along with world tours and stadium concerts that drew thousands of fans.
A dazzling solo career
Although Chris Norman left Smokie completely in 1986 and began a solo career, his discography is impressive: more than 50 singles and more than 30 albums (9 with Smokie and 25 solo). More than 30 million records have been sold worldwide, and the artist still writes music and tours actively.
After successful concerts with Suzi Quatro, Chris Norman collaborated with Dieter Bohlen - the founder, composer, and singer of Modern Talking, Blue System, and C.C. Catch.
With the song “Midnight Lady”, Chris Norman conquered the peaks of popular music in many countries around the world.
The musician lives on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea and has been married to his wife Linda for more than 50 years. They have five children and four grandchildren. In interviews, Chris Norman has repeatedly emphasized the importance of his marriage. In 2001, the family suffered a heavy loss - his son Brian died in a motorcycle accident. Despite this, Norman continues a successful career and remains a welcome and regular guest on international stages.
The audience will hear all the hits and the premieres of new songs
The artist performs actively around the world and surprises thousands of fans with his energy.
“Humor and exercise help keep the energy up. Although sometimes I really want to take it easy, I force myself to go to the gym and do physical activities,” Chris says with a smile, as his concert schedule is planned several years ahead.
The famous singer Chris Norman is associated not only with energetic rock and roll, but also with lyrical songs, so the concert in Riga promises to be both rock-filled and movingly lyrical.
A Chris Norman concert is not just music, it is a meeting with an era. For many, his songs have become the soundtrack of life for several generations. The event on December 11 in Riga, at Xiaomi Arena, will be the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in a unique atmosphere and feel the live energy of one of the biggest stars in world rock music.
