Daugavpils 13th International Folklore Festival

From October 15 to 18, the 13th International Folklore Festival will take place in Daugavpils, bringing together more than 280 participants from 25 ensembles from Latvia, Lithuania, and the United States.

This year's festival is dedicated to one of the most colorful treasures of intangible cultural heritage - wedding traditions, in which memories and knowledge, rituals and customs, songs and dances have intertwined for centuries. The festival will invite visitors not only to observe the legacy of wedding traditions from the outside, but also to hear, feel, and experience it as a living cultural experience, one in which joy and merriment are accompanied by a touch of poignancy.

On October 15 at 6: 00 p.m., the festival program will begin with the discussion club “KUOZU GUDREIBYS,” which will take place at the House of Traditions. During the evening, wedding hosts will share their stories and recipes, and everyone will have the opportunity to take part in a hands-on workshop.
