I’M ON A HIGH HORSE! In Riga | Anta Eņģele’s anniversary concert

Singer-songwriter Anta Eņģele invites listeners to her birthday concert “I’m on a high horse!” in Riga!

The fiery Year of the Horse marks Anta Eņģele’s milestone birthday, and what is a real birthday without guests and music! That is why, on the birthday evening, 14 November at 6:00 PM, all admirers of Anta’s talent, friends, colleagues, and like-minded people are invited to celebrate this anniversary together in Riga, in the Chamber Hall of the VEF Cultural Palace. The concert will feature audience favorites from Anta’s wide repertoire, where Latvian melodies and poetry meet world music and translations. Latvian folk songs, which are always sung together with the audience, will certainly not be forgotten either. The singer-songwriter will share her stories and special memories both about the songs she has sung and about the time spent on stage and with her listeners. As with any proper celebration, there will be laughter, perhaps a few tears of emotion, and, of course, true singing together - everyone is invited!

Anta Eņģele is a singer, songwriter, healer, and also an Austra’s child, meaning a student of the legendary singer-songwriter Austra Pumpure. Perhaps it was Austra who taught Anta to love and feel her audience so deeply, and to make music joyfully for year after year, to sing, and to reach such a large audience while enjoying the love it gives back at concerts all over Latvia and beyond. With her guitar and voice, Anta delightfully enchants listeners, and before you know it, there is a desire to sing along, to resonate, to co-create this event - the song. In this way, each person lives through the song within themselves even more truly - from the heart.

See you on the birthday evening!
