Exhibition “Evidence of Values.

Jurmala Central Library’s Children and Youth Department invites you on October 3 at 12:00 to the opening of the exhibition “Evidence of Values: An Intercultural Contemporary Photography Exhibition of Latvia and China.”

The exhibition brings together the works of six young photographers - three from Latvia and three from China - in a shared visual dialogue, where different cultural experiences connect in a common space of values. It creates a multilayered visual narrative about cultural imprints, layers of memory, and shared human values.

The exhibition’s visual concept is created by six contemporary photography artists:

Latvian cultural space: Emīlija Skrupska, Natālija Jēkabsone and Ieva Romaško

Traces of Chinese culture: Xiyu Huang, Cao Hui and Guo Pupu.

The photographic message is complemented by the poetry of the poet Agnese Gabriela Celma. The author, who writes under the pseudonym Gabrielle Ciméri, continues the feelings and values conveyed in the photographic stories in another, poetic language, creating a space between image and word for quiet reflection.

International cooperation is provided by coordinator Chang Wang.

The event program will be complemented by a traditional Gongfu cha tea ceremony, led by Anna Marcinkēviča, a specialist in Chinese teas and Latvian medicinal herbs.
