"Bright Nights" is a documentary performance about three men who ended up in prison while still young. It is a story about growing up within the walls of a cell, searching for a chance to start life anew.

What leads to the crisis point at which a crime is committed? What inner processes accompany prisoners? And how much does the rest of society know about it? There is no shortage of harshness in the answers to these questions, but they are also woven through with humor and human longing that everyone knows.

"Bright Nights" is artist Kristīne Brīniņa’s second creative work, created in collaboration with the young actors of the Liepāja Theatre. It will be a continuation of creating socially active and socially inclusive contemporary performing arts works.

The performance has been nominated for 2 categories in the 2023/2024 "Spēlmaņu nakts" awards: "Best Small-Scale Production of the Year" and "New Stage Artist of the Year" (Kārlis Artejevs for the role of Andris)!
