Interactive Theatre Game “Morning of 4 October”

The performance “Morning of 4 October” is a game with elements of interactive theatre, in which the audience, together with the actors, will model possible futures after the Saeima elections and explore why people make different decisions.

The performance “Morning of 4 October” focuses on choices and what happens after they are made. By taking part in the theatre game, visitors jointly seek answers to the question: how can people living in the same country arrive at such different choices and decisions, and how can these choices coexist? Audience participation is part of the performance, allowing exploration of both decision-making and its possible consequences. The aim of the performance is to better understand the society of which we are a part today and will be the day after the elections tomorrow.

The new production continues the exploration of socially relevant questions through participatory theatre methods, begun in the performances “Democracy and...” (2021) and “Blanket” (2023), created based on the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia. The performance “Blanket” received the Kuldīga Municipality Annual Award in Culture in the category “Annual Original Work.”

The director of “Morning of 4 October” is Jurģis Spulenieks, the playwright is Ivo Briedis, the set and costume designer is Kristīne Abika, and the producer is Krista Jansone. The performance features actors Sandija Dovgāne, Edgars Samītis, and Andis Strods.
