Jelgava Region Book Festival

On October 9, the Jelgava Region Book Festival will take place at the Ozolnieki Community Center, inviting book and culture lovers to come together for meetings, conversations, music, and other activities.

From 11: 00, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Ozolnieki Parish Library (Rīgas iela 29), as well as the Ozolnieki History Exhibition (Skolas iela 4b).

The festival opening at 13: 00 will take place together with students from the Ozolnieki Music School. At 13:30, visitors are invited to meet art historian and longtime director of Rundāle Palace Imants Lancmanis, for a conversation about art, culture, history, and his rich life experience.

At 15: 00, a meeting with writer Inga Žolude is planned, with a conversation about literature, writing, and the stories of people and life experiences reflected in her work.

At the end of the festival, a book raffle will take place at 16:15, and at 16:30 the audience will be delighted by a concert by the Ozolnieki Parish vocal ensemble “Procesā”.

Throughout the day, the book exchange “Reader Gives to Reader” will take place, where everyone is invited to bring their already-read books and swap them for new reading material, as well as purchase books offered by the bookshop "Globuss" and products from Jelgava Region home producers.

During the event, the café "Dūcmaizīte" will be open.
