JUBILATE | KREMERATA BALTICA 30 | For Gidon Kremer's 80th Birthday

Concert program: KREMERATA BALTICA's wide-ranging musical horizon - music by Gustav Mahler, Ludwig van Beethoven, Astor Piazzolla and, as always, Baltic music - works by three young composers Jēkabs Jančevskis (Latvia), Alisson Kruusmaa (Estonia) and Andrius Žlabys (Lithuania).

For thirty years, the orchestra KREMERATA BALTICA has stood as proof of excellence, creativity, courage and ever-new ideas, continuously revealing what is most essential in music - the story of the world and of ourselves.

The orchestra was founded in 1997 by the world-renowned violinist Gidon Kremer to bring together the brightest young musicians from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and to create an ensemble whose artistic language knows no borders, so that the name of the Baltics may звучать brightly and exquisitely everywhere in the wide world. Today, KREMERATA BALTICA is one of the most internationally acclaimed European chamber orchestras - it has performed in more than 50 countries, given more than a thousand concerts and received the highest international awards for its recordings and interpretations.

This season is special - it is KREMERATA BALTICA's 30th anniversary season, and at the same time we are celebrating the 80th birthday of the orchestra's founder, artistic director and inspirer, Gidon Kremer. The orchestra will celebrate the anniversary around the world and in Latvia. It is an opportunity to look back on three decades in which a unique musical community has been created - faithful to artistic truth and always open to new ideas.

Cēsis is a concert venue especially dear to the musicians. Always warmly welcomed, KREMERATA BALTICA and Maestro Gidon Kremer invite you to a special meeting on this anniversary occasion.
