Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra

Special guests: Andrejs Puškarevs, Guntars Freibergs and the musicians of his ensemble

Daniils Bulajevs and the chamber orchestra Davinspiro Camerata invite you to an expressive concert featuring well-known works alongside Latvian and world premieres. The program will gain a distinctive sound thanks to the outstanding percussionists Andrejs Puškarevs, Guntars Freibergs and the musicians of his ensemble.

The first part of the concert will feature Apollonian Dances for chamber orchestra by Swedish contemporary music composer Albert Schnelzer, as well as the world premiere of Spanish conductor, pianist and composer Melani Mestre's Violin Concerto. The work is dedicated to Daniils Bulajevs and the chamber orchestra Davinspiro Camerata.

The second part will feature a masterpiece of ballet music, one of composer Rodion Shchedrin's most iconic works, "Carmen Suite" for string orchestra and percussion, created based on motifs from Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen".

About the program, Daniils Bulajevs says:

"This program will be like a journey through different aspects of dance and rhythm in chamber orchestra music. If the February program at the Cēsis Concert Hall was filled with reflection and deep emotions, this time the focus is on a brighter and more cheerful mood. I am especially pleased that the chamber orchestra Davinspiro Camerata will be joined by the outstanding percussionists Andrejs Puškarevs, Guntars Freibergs and the musicians of his ensemble. I am confident that the audience will have the chance to discover the melodies and dance rhythms of different cultures, from the world premiere to the well-known Carmen."
