KATŌ in the Concert Program “Plastic Christmas Tree” | Warm Letters

On 13 December, Pegaza Viesistaba will fill with songs that smell like mandarins, freshly decorated Christmas trees, and childhood Christmases. In a special electroacoustic program, singer KATŌ invites you to a warm and unhurried evening with her original music, heartfelt Christmas songs, and beloved melodies in Latvian.

In this concert, KATŌ will take the stage in a special lineup, one that has never before appeared at her concerts, giving familiar songs a new sound by combining acoustic warmth with contemporary energy.

The song “Plastmasas eglīte” is a story about Christmas, and in this program it will become part of an evening of anticipation for the holidays. KATŌ’s music is about feelings that do not need to be explained - they are simply familiar. About home, relationships, everyday life, joy, and a little sadness too. At Christmas time, these feelings come even closer.

December is often a time when work keeps piling up, but time for yourself becomes scarcer and scarcer. That is why this concert will be a chance to set aside the rush of everyday life for a moment, warm up in music, and simply be together.

KATŌ’s concert “Plastmasas eglīte” is part of the Advent concert series “Warm Letters,” taking place in Pegaza Pagalms in December 2026. The series offers three genre-diverse concert programs united by one shared idea: to create more warmth, presence, and togetherness in the darkest time of the year.

The concert series will be complemented by the participatory art installation “The Wall of Warm Letters.” Everyone is invited to write warm words, wishes, or words of encouragement to the representatives of the “Angels Over Latvia” campaign - six children from different Latvian cities. After the campaign, the letters will be delivered to the children, while during the concerts they will together form a special work of art.

“Warm Letters” is not only about enjoying music. It is a chance to become part of a beautiful story yourself - through presence, kind words, and a very simple yet meaningful gesture.
