KOLANDO / Rāmi Riti Winter Solstice Concert Meditation

The ambient ethno-music group RĀMI RITI and harpist Ieva Šablovska invite you on the evening of the Winter Solstice to a warm and radiant concert journey, “KOLANDO.” A shared festive evening in which to let yourself pause, listen to the sparkling threads of music, grow quiet, and feel the moment in the year’s cycle when it is darkest outside, yet in the heart and in the music a bright little flame is kindled and shines.

The concert meditation “Kolando” will take us into the story of the Winter Solstice, where the magic of the harp will intertwine with Rāmi Riti’s clear, warm vocals, vocal harmonies, and the musicians’ hands will bring to life the hangs, flutes, shepherd’s pipes, kokle, guitar, percussion, keys, bagpipes, and other instruments. The concert meditation will flow from serene, airy compositions to powerful, instrumentally and vocally rich works, where ambiences and Latvian ethnic and world-music moods meet and merge.

On this festive evening, the most beautiful songs of the Winter Solstice season will be heard - both folk melodies in Rāmi Riti’s arrangements and original compositions created by the group members, Inese Kozuliņa and Mārtiņš Miļevskis. And, of course, a sing-along moment will also warm us all, as we roll out the deep, white, powerful words of the dainas together.

The SPECIAL GUEST of this concert is the HARPIST of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra - IEVA ŠABLOVSKA. Ieva’s artistic and creative work is very broad. It includes performing both in various Latvian and European orchestras and in chamber ensembles.

Rāmi Riti musicians:
