Concert Story for the Whole Family “A Winter Tale”

On December 5, the Collegium Early Music Christmas Festival will open with a concert story for the whole family, “A Winter Tale” - a musical adventure that will invite both young and old listeners to step for a moment into a world where music becomes a story and ancient musical instruments become its heroes.

“A Winter Tale” is designed as a family-friendly first encounter with the world of early music. The concert will feature soloists from the Baroque orchestra Collegium Musicum Riga, offering a close-up introduction to the sound of historical instruments and revealing how many different moods they can create - from a quiet, mysterious winter landscape to playful joy and the anticipation of the holidays.

In this concert story, music will intertwine with narration, leading listeners through the world of winter and the anticipation of Christmas. It will be a story about the search for a miracle, light in the darkest time of the year, and the ability to see the extraordinary in things that seem completely ordinary.

Especially intended for families with children, the concert will offer a way to discover early music in a relaxed and engaging manner. No prior knowledge of Baroque music will be needed - all it takes is curiosity, a desire to listen, and a willingness to let yourself be carried away by a fairy tale. Sweet gifts from “Rembate Chocolate” for the most active listeners.
