Program: Ella Zīriņa

Guitarist and composer Ella Zīriņa graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam and is currently a jazz guitar teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Her compositions reveal both the influence of classical music and the breath of world music. Ella’s harmonically rich guitar improvisations create a personal, refined, and emotional sonic landscape. The musician has already released three albums: in 2023, both her debut album Ella Zirina Trio – Intertwined, which was nominated for the prestigious Edisons Jazz Award, and the solo album Unraveler were released, and in October 2024 the album Boundless Blue, Sunset Hue came out, followed by an intensive European concert tour. Ella has performed with musicians such as guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joey Baron, saxophonists Tineke Postma and Ben van Gelder. As a soloist, she has played with the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Jazz Orchestra.
