Latvian Radio Big Band 60th Anniversary Concert

The Latvian Radio Big Band 60th anniversary concert is not only a celebration, but a story about sound, people, and time. On one stage, the Latvian Radio Big Band will meet its closest creative allies - the charismatic British singer Ola Onabule, the brilliant Latvian vocalist Kristīne Prauliņa, the versatile Intars Busulis, and the evening will also be enriched by other special guests - instrumentalists and vocalists who have been part of the big band’s creative journey.

The program is designed as a musical retrospective that reveals the development of the big band’s identity - from classic jazz roots to contemporary, genre-crossing collaborations. It will feature works from the ensemble’s discography (Kārlis Vanags’s works for big band, maestro Raimonds Pauls’s suites), marking the most important points of collaboration and stylistic turns in the past decade of its work. Internationally known pieces, the golden repertoire of jazz music, and standards will also be performed.
