The novel reveals that each of us has our own special place in this world, and no one is a failure or worse than anyone else. The moving story of Maksis Pihelšteinietis tells how even a person barely five centimeters tall can fulfill a big dream and become a true circus artist. But to get what he wants, Maksis must be not only persistent and determined, but also very brave. Just when the Little Man is almost at the point of fulfilling his dream and becoming famous all over the world, a terrible crime takes place that turns everything upside down.
